Getting Started
- How do I get started with an addition or remodeling project?
- Generate ideas about the function and style of the living space you want to create. Gather magazine articles, pictures, and notes. Think about your current environment noting aspects that you like and ones that you dislike or might want to alter. Look at your finances to determine how much you’d like to invest in your home improvement project. Then give Custom Craft a call! We will help to further develop your ideas to create a design that best suits your needs and budget.
- What if I’m unsure of exactly what I want?
- Meet with us! We will incorporate your ideas into a design, provide unique suggestions, and help to develop cost-effective solutions to create the functional living space you desire.
- Is Custom Craft Contractors insured?
- Yes. Custom Craft is a fully insured builder and we will gladly provide a certificate outlining our coverage.
- Will I need an architect?
- Our experienced staff has design capabilities for the majority of our projects. We utilize a computer aided design (CAD) program to create detailed construction plans. If your project is expansive and/or requires significant engineering components, we can recommend an architect with whom to work.
- How much will my project cost?
- Project costs can vary greatly depending on the size of the project, the quality of materials selected, and the intricacies of finish work. We do our best to provide accurate estimates; however; we recommend to all of our customers that they leave room in their budgets for unforeseen costs. For example, as the project starts coming together, you may decide to upgrade the master bath plumbing fixtures or add a few more receptacles than originally planned.
- Will my project require a permit?
- Typically any alterations or additions involving electrical, mechanical, structural, or plumbing changes will require a permit. We are well-versed on the local and national regulations and will determine when a permit is necessary for the completion of the project. Because permit costs based on the size of the project and local regulations, they are not included in our proposals.
- How do I get the ball rolling?
- Contact Custom Craft! One of our representatives will visit with you to better understand your existing conditions and discuss your goals and ideas for the project.
